Submissions open for the Movies that Matter Festival 2026

 

Do you have a compelling short or feature-length documentary or fiction film, completed in 2025 or 2026, that addresses human rights issues?
We warmly invite you to submit your work for the 2026 edition of the Movies that Matter Festival!

The festival will take place from 20 to 28 March 2026 in and around The Hague. The submission deadline is 1 November 2025.
The final programme will be announced at the end of February 2026.

Before you begin, please read the full [rules and regulations] to ensure your film is eligble for submission.

How to submit your film
Follow these steps to submit your film:

  1. Enter your email address in the field below. You will receive a personalised link to the submission form. Click ‘send’ to proceed to the payment page.
  2. Pay the submission fee. Once your payment is completed, the link to the submission form will appear on your screen and be sent to your email address. Please note: this link is valid for 7 days.
  3. Complete the submission form using the link provided. Please be aware: For security reasons, the form will close automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity. If this happens, a warning message will appear and all entered information will be lost. Make sure you have all required materials ready before you start. If you keep the form open in the background of your browser (different tab/window), make sure to refresh the page before starting to fill out the form.
  4. After successful submission, you will receive a confirmation email from us.

Submission Fees
The submission fee depends on when you submit:

  • Early Bird (1 June – 31 July): €20
  • Regular Fee (1 August – 30 September): €25
  • Late Fee (1 October – 1 November): €35
